Corporate Goals

Objectives

 A

Provide continued prudent fiscal management.

  • Maintain a three (3) year County budget plan, based on the three (3) year Business Plan.
     

  • Maintain a minimal general tax supported County debt and a pay-as-you-go philosophy.
     

  • Maintain reasonable and competitive tax rates.
     

  • Maintain up to date, clearly explained, property assessment.
     

  • Maintain an enhanced financial reporting system.

 B

Provide for planned long term services that promote and sustain agriculture, residential and business sectors.

  • Review our processes to improve services and programs offered and delivered.
     

  • Define the relationship between physical resources, services and the demands of growth.
     

  • Develop program plans to enhance diversification, quality of life and economic viability that will promote and sustain Leduc County as a desirable place to live and work.

Provide necessary protective services to help keep residents, rate payers and others in a safe environment.

  • Determine the appropriate levels of services through a consultation process.
     

  • Ensure that effective and efficient emergency services are delivered equitably to the community, based on identifiable needs.
     

  • Promote a community consciousness, which embraces activities that improve individual wellness, fire prevention, safety and protection from crime.
     

  • Proactively foster regional partnerships and initiatives.
     

  • Maintain an effective volunteer program within Protective Services.

 A work environment that will attract and retain a highly motivated and professional work force (quality employee culture).

  • Develop an Employee Training Program which will result in a more highly trained work force and enhanced municipal services.
     

  • Develop an employee attraction and retention program which provides a salary and benefits compensation package that has Leduc County as a municipal employer of choice.
     

  • Review the human resources available and the level of services expected.

 An effective Council Team.

  • Councillors support the decisions of Council as well as one another to foster cohesive Council decision making and support.
     

  • Consider the welfare and interests of the County as a whole.
     

  • Work together as a team to address issues.
     

  • Create opportunities in Council meetings for fair, equitable and mutual trust expression of views, opinions and comments.

Enhance the team work between Council and Administration.

  • Formalize an effective process for presenting information to Council (research, options, recommendation, justification).
     

  • Administration to effectively and efficiently implement programs and services as directed by Council.
     

  • Council to focus on their responsibility as policy maker(s) and the clear articulation of priorities and expectations.
     

  • Council to respect the role of Administration to provide Council with honest and forthright advice and recommendations and performing its function operating the County by implementing programs and services.
     

  • Enhance mutual trust and respect.

Provide planned, progressive and responsible infrastructure.

  • Develop and maintain a County equipment and infrastructure asset management plan to ensure a sustainable County.

Provide enhanced information about Leduc County.

  •  Develop and implement a communication plan targeted towards all stakeholders to increase awareness about services, programs and opportunities at Leduc County.
     

  • Maintain relationships with all stakeholders.
     

  • Develop two-way communication methods with stakeholders.

 I

 Manage a proactive and responsive social support system to assist citizens with social issues.

  • Maintain preventive and proactive services that focus on current and relevant social services.
     

  • Maintain partnerships that ensure social issues and gaps are identified.
     

  • Support and encourage the development of strong communities.

J Review and improve the inter and intra-departmental procedures to streamline processes and operations.
  • Enhance the sharing of data, resources and information between Departments to ensure a coordinated effective and efficient delivery of services.

  • Enhance the functions to foster coordination and collaboration = one team approach.
     

  • Ensure complete and accurate information is available to provide an open and accountable governance while protecting the privacy of personal information.
